Gaia Project: The Video Paintings
Cornerhouse - Manchester
Solo exhibition
2 - 12 April 2007

cornerhouse

'James Brady is a North West based artist and independent curator. Working across the mediums of painting, photography, video and sculpture, Brady’s recent projects focus on the exploration of landscape and organic materials. His Gaia Project video-works, screened here, attempt to address the phenomenon of what is a conceptual divide between ‘geological time’ (deep time) and ‘human time. Brady describes these works as sitting somewhere between video, painting and photography and draws parallels between his work and the British landscape tradition in Western art. '
